July 23rd, 1927 - August 9th, 2008
Retired Army Sergeant First Class (Promotable) passed away on August 9, 2008 at the age of 81 in his home in Aurora, Colorado. Ernie, as he was called, joined the Army in Hawaii at the age of 18. He served 23 years in the Army then went into construction, warehouse and then Civil Service at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado until he retired in October 1981. He stayed busy after retirement until last year doing what he loved the most – officiating baseball, softball and basket ball throughout the state of Colorado. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Eva. Also surviving are his 7 children, Wayne, Sandy, Debbie, Bruce, Alex, Gregory and Brian. He and Eva were grandparents to 22 grandchildren and to 23 great grandchildren. He was loved deeply by everyone whom he touched and will be missed by all. Posted by All Veterans Funeral & Cremation
