Wanda Drake
August 28th, 1941 - May 21st, 2012
CAYCE: Wanda L. Drake, of Cayce, was 70 years young when she was blessed to meet her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She was a devoted mother to Burleigh "Dell", Sanya and Jamie and has reunited with her third child, Thomas. She was blessed to be stepmother to Tanya, Rhonda and Kim. Mom, a member of the Lumbee Indian Tribe, was the youngest of 12 children born to Burleigh and Pearlie Lowry and was a graduate of Pembroke High School in Pembroke, NC, after which she attended cosmetology school in Charlotte, NC. Once her children began school, she began working for South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and after 28 years of devotion, dedication and hard work she retired from SCDMV to enjoy her family, friends, church and flowers. Mom cherished her church family at Green Hill Baptist Church where she was previously a nursery worker, Sunday school teacher and Sunshine Group participant. The family would like to express its most heartfelt gratitude to Agape and its staff as well as Hospice for the unending love you showed Mom. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Green Hill Baptist Church, Shut-In Ministry, P.O. Box 6276, West Columbia, SC 29171 and/or The Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Ste. 100, West Columbia, SC 29169. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Green Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. John Lopez and Mr. Russell Laird. Interment will follow at Lowry Family Cemetery, Pembroke, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.

Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
