WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Charles T. Manley, Sr., 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Rob Cely. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Manley passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. Born in Ninety-Six, SC, he was a son of the late John Henry Manley and Sophia Beatrice Deloach Manley. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Manley was a long distance truck driver and was also employed with Senn's Gulf. He enjoyed fishing; and was affectionately known as "the candy man". Survivors are his daughters, Gay Manley Smith of Gaston and Gwen Manley Futrell (Stewart) of Sandy Run; son, Tommy Manley, Jr. of West Columbia; sister, Evelyn Barfield of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Ricky Smith, Jr., Jeremy Smith, Chrissy Frasco, Ray Gunter, Jr., Paul Manley, Tommy Manley, III, David Manley, and Jonathan Manley; four great grandchildren, Evan and Eden Smith and Carolana and Kaylee Frasco. Mr. Manley was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sherry Manley.
