Joe Richard Teal GASTON:Memorial service for Joe Richard Teal, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Mr. Teal died Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Born in Wadesboro, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Jack P. Teal and Myrtle Bowers Teal. He was retired from Carolina Eastman. Mr. Teal was a member of the Men's Golf Association at Hidden Valley Country Club and the Midlands Senior Golf Association. Surviving is his wife, Claire W. Teal of Gaston; son, Joe "Rick" Teal, Jr. (Rebecca) of Gaston; daughter, Susan Teal of Columbia; sister, Jackie Hazen of Rockingham, NC; Jane Teal of Darlington; grandchildren, Cpl. Justin Teal, USMC, Ashley Teal and Rachel Little. Mr. Teal was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Brantley Teal. Family and friends may sign online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
