Scott LuVerne Prehm, 69, passed peacefully just before breakfast on May 22, 2019 at his home in Denver, Colorado. Scott was born to Sally and Chuck Prehm on July 28, 1949, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He grew up in several towns in north central Iowa and finally ended up in Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1967. Scott was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1969 until 1973. His work in the military was as a computer specialist. In 1977, he left the world of computer technology never to return to this line of work again. Scott moved various times after his service to our country, but was drawn to the Rocky Mountains area in Salida and Denver. He had various jobs and spent the majority of his adult life working in the construction field. He also worked as a warehouse supervisor and various other employment. But Scott’s passion was spending time in the mountains, camping and enjoying the simplistic things in life. He often said he lived in Salida, Colorado and camped near there in the summer, then returned to Denver to work during the winter months. We have many memories of Scott, but most of them are our camping adventures with him, his 50th birthday party/family reunion out in the mountains near Salida, his great original songs he wrote and performed for us, his wonderful sense of humor, and many years of interaction with family and nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father Charles Albert Prehm and mother Sarah Jeanette Knutson Prehm. He was survived by his son, Scott Thompson and wife Barbara, grandson Wesley, granddaughter Kayla, brother Larry Prehm and wife Bernadette (Bea), brother Daniel (Danny) Prehm and wife Elizabeth (Liz), sister Peggy (Peg) Hijar and husband Richard, brother David (Dave) and wife Susan (Sue), sister Kamilla (Kim) Porter, brother Anthony (Tony) and wife Francine (France), brother Robert (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. The family will hold an intimate family and relatives memorial for Scott on June 9th at 9 A.M. in Pueblo, Colorado. There will also be a Memorial Service for him on June 22, 2019 at Samuel Lutheran Church, 201 N Lincoln Ave, Eagle Grove Iowa, 1:00 pm. Visitation and lunch will be at 11:00 – 1:00. Please send any cards to Scott and Barbara Thompson, 9808 S 24th St, Bellevue, NE 68123.
