Annie Ramage McElveen

A graveside service celebrating the life of Annie Lillian Ramage McElveen, 92, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mrs. McElveen passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to the late Jayce I. Ramage and Carrie Lou Herlong. Mrs. McElveen was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Jackson McElveen, Jr., a daughter, Brenda Lillian McElveen and her three brothers, Theron Ramage, Everett Ramage, and Fred Ramage. Surviving are her loving daughters, Carole Haltiwanger, Christine McElveen, and Mimi (Rick) Ackerman; her loving sons, Andrew ?Jack? McElveen, III and Leland J. (Bonnie) McElveen, MD; ten grandchildren, Katherine Birchenough, MD, Elizabeth Mueller, Shayne Ohlsen, Rick Ackerman, Jr., Stephen Ackerman, Mike Ackerman, Leland McElveen, Jr., Joel Everett, Craig Everett and Emily Everett; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. Special appreciation for Dr. Brad Word and the staff of the 8th Averyt Oncology Floor at Palmetto Health Baptist Medical Center for their care and compassion. Also, special thanks to Sandy Perry, RN and Dorothy Yarborough for their care and support during the illness of Mrs. McElveen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Humane Society, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209 or a charity of one?s choice in Lillian?s memory.
