Hatchell, was welcomed home with open arms by her Lord and Savior on January 23, 2011. Born in Sumter, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clem T. Wadford and Cora Isabelle Thames Wadford. She was retired from the Salvation Army where she and her husband were an intrical part contributing to its growth; she taught Sunday School for many years and wrote Christmas plays for her church. Mrs. Hatchell was a faithful servant to God and lived her life as such. She encouraged everyone she knew to find Christ, as did her late husband. The smile on her face, when she took her last breath, assured her family that she had been shown the way by her loving husband and mother, whom she adored so much. Surviving are her daughters, Jannie M. Corcoran (Bill), Georgianna Sanders (Gerald); her grandchildren who were the lights of her life, Billy Corcoran (Catherine), Katrina Gibson (Stacy), Christy Corcoran, Jannie Davis (Mark), Kelly Coleman (James), Gina Corcoran (Tony), Christian Drew (Jason), George W. ?Jimmy? Sanders, Gerald ?Spanky? Sanders and Elizabeth Sanders; her great grandchildren she was able to enjoy, and cherished, Trevor Corcoran, Nicholas ?Nicky? Corcoran, Reginald ?Ross? Nelson, Kristiana Nelson, Alexis Coleman, Ethan Coleman and MaKenna Berry; also one great great grandchild, Christopher. Mrs. Hatchell was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie James Hatchell, sisters, Margaret Hatchell and Jannie Williams; and brothers, Varnnie Wadford and John Wadford. Mrs. Hatchell was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many more. As God?s faithful servant, she touched many lives and will continue to do so as her spirit lives on. We love you Mama and Grandma, and will miss you forever more, but know that you are with us in our hearts. Most importantly, we know that you are with our God, who you so loyally served. We Entrusted Cora Hatchell's Care To
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
