WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services for Charles Franklin Tidwell, 70, of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Ferguson and Rev. Joe Reed. Burial will follow in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St., Ste. 300, Columbia, SC 29201 or His House Ministries, 764 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.Mr. Tidwell, beloved husband of Mildred Ann Hayes Tidwell, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Born in Richland County, he was the son of the late Curtis F. and Laura Mae Frost Tidwell. He was a lifetime area resident and served as a Master Plumber for 40 years. He enjoyed life; he loved everyone and never met a stranger.Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Mildred Tidwell of West Columbia; daughters, Katie Bagnal (Rowland) of Lexington, Charline Tidwell and Marlene Gause both of West Columbia; sons, Charles Tidwell, Jr. (Anne) of Red Bank and Terry Earl Caughman of Gaston; most loved grandchildren, Marie, Crystal, Timmy, Christopher, Kevin, Dylan and Caleb; sister, Jeanette McCall (Carrol) of Cashiers, NC; brothers, Otis Tidwell (Joanne) of Central, Ronald Tidwell of West Columbia, Robert Tidwell (Harriett) of West Columbia, Curtis Frankie Tidwell (Barbara) of Pelion, Sherwood Tidwell (Beatrice) of Columbia along with numerous nieces and nephews.
