Thomas M. "Tank" Morgan WEST COLUMBIA, SC-- Funeral services for Thomas M. "Tank" Morgan, 63, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 28, 2010, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC. The Reverend Canon Gray Lesesne will be officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the funeral home. Mr. Morgan, beloved husband of the recently deceased Carol S. Morgan, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 25, 2010. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Landrum Morgan and Elizabeth Kelly Morgan. Mr. Morgan, a veteran, was a retired civil servant of the U.S Postal Service. He lived life to the fullest and likely died of a broken heart after losing his wife of 42 years in June after a short illness. His last days were spent enjoying time with his daughters, son-in-law, and grandson in Virginia. Mr. Morgan is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry A. Morgan (Nancy) of Spartanburg, SC; daughters and son-in-law, Tina Morgan Kirschbaum (Joseph) of Alexandria, VA and Jennifer S. Morgan of West Columbia; and grandson, Joseph Thomas Kirschbaum.
