Janie Ruth McRae, 86, of West Columbia wife of the late Robert Colin "Bobby" McRae passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017. She was born on October 1, 1930 in Cedar Grove, SC to the late Bointon and Aloth Black Ricard. She was owner of Mrs. Jeanie's Nursery and was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Blocker; two sons, Michael (Beth) and Glenn McRae (Karla); five sisters, Mary Padgett, Onlee McGee, Lanette Black, Lou Ellen Foster and Marie Hodge; three granddaughters, Shaye and Savannah McRae and Jessica Williams Long; three great grandsons. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa McRae; a sister, Juanita Taylor: four brothers, Wilson, Brenton, Charles and Samuel Ricard; a son-in-law David Blocker. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1500 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road in Columbia.
