Annie Jackson Loggins, 95, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Richland Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 16, 1921 in Greenwood, South Carolina to the late James and Mary (Cromer) Jackson. Annie was strong in her Christian faith and had a love of life. She was a long time member of St. Andrews Road Church of Christ. Annie was an amazing baker and cook. She made amazing fruit cakes and the most delicious fudge. Annie enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb. Whether it was vegetables, flowers or just keeping her yard beautiful she had a gift for growing and nurturing plants. She was very good with her hands and was an award winning cross stitch artist. Annie most loved her family. She enjoyed all the times that they could be together. She will be missed by those she loved and those that loved her. Annie is survived by her grandchildren; Michael S. Loggins, Jr., Jessie Hughes, Brandon S. Rye, Angela Hughes, and Kyle Hughes; great-grandchildren, Weston Ernst and Breana Hughes; a brother, Albert Jackson; and two sisters, Louise Timms and Rozena Ross. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins to treasure her memory. Annie is also survived by a very special son-in-law, Ken Rye; and a niece that was like a sister to her, Vicki Koon that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Loggins; a son, Michael S. Loggins; a daughter, Mary Katherine Rye; and a grandchild, Jeffery Blake. Graveside services will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC 29209 on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10 AM. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia SC.
