Robert T. Rodriguez has left this world in true Rodriguez fashion, on his terms and in his own time. On July 19, 2019, at the age of 55 yrs old Robert completed all he set out to do and reminded us what was truly important, the treasured heirlooms are the sweet memories of family. He returned to Colorado from California to be with what he treasured most and who is survived by a daughter, Jessica Rodriguez, a son, Robert Rodriguez, a daughter Angelina Rodriguez and two granddaughters, Trinity Lipes and Brenda Rodriguez. Robert was born December 5, 1963 to the late Robert A. Rodriguez and Eileen M. (Hughes) Rodriguez. He was raised in a house with 5 other children- John, Roberta, Stephen, Randolph, and Amanda. This is where he learned sibling life can take patience, respect although crazy and hilarious all at the same time. There are many funny stories that he has told over the years whether it’s pranking each other or fighting over one thing or another – these experiences are what makes a family strong. Nobody knows how to kick your behind like your older siblings, but nobody will be there like that same sibling to back you up. There is a bond that is built through the years, the Rodriguez clan is as strong as they come! These are values that he has taught to his children and they will be passed down to future generations. Robert was not one to let grass grow under his feet after marrying Lisa (Garcia) Rodriguez on April 12, 1986 and graduating at Paramount High School, he joined the United States Army on May 5,1986. He served in the Infantry, a real ground pounder! His first duty station was Ft. Stewart, GA where he learned to repair HMMWV, Military trucks, and light tanks. He deployed to Korea where he was an MP for 1.5yrs. He then settled in at Company A 1st battalion 12th infantry stationed at Fort Carson. Where he enjoyed the Mountain scenery, take up fishing, and decided to raise his family. On October 10, 1990, he received his honorable discharge. Robert was a Baker at heart, never seem to stray too far from the industry. He started working at a young age at Winchell’s and Dunkin Donuts. He eventually owned his own shop, “Baker Bob” (as everyone had nick named him) always had a fresh cup of coffee, a warm donut, and a welcoming smile to greet you. He loved taking time to share his passion with elementary kids, he would visit the local schools anytime he was invited. Or to help where he was needed. As Robert would say, “I leave you today please know that all my chores are through I’ve signed on the dotted line and have taken a new job, one with great benefits and unlimited fishing days. “I’ll see you on the other side …”
