John B. Sandoval, 92, died April 23 in Littleton, Colorado. He was born on May 15, 1921 in Tabasco, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramos Sandoval and Isabel Ammon; his wife, Ida Medina Sandoval; his son, Andre Lee Sandoval; brother, Tony Garcia, wife Lucy; brother, Eugene Garcia, wife, Tillie; brother; Albert Sandoval; brother, Matt J. Sandoval, wife, Mary Helen; sister, Isabel Sandoval; and sister, Dora Garcia Montoya, husband Lucian. He is survived by his children, Frances Kidder, Peebles, OH, granddaughters, Ida Tapia, San Antonio, TX, husband Raul, and children, Timothy, Frances Isabelle, Andre, Lely Palmer, husband Terry, children, Sarah Ryan, husband Tyler and Michelle; Isabelle Sandoval, Santa Fe, NM, grandson, Tomas Duran, wife Natasha, children, Jacob and Gabriella; John Sandoval, Washington, D.C.; and Sandra Hickey, Parker, CO, husband William, granddaughters, Franceen Thompson, husband Tim, children David, Alison; Sarah Daniels, husband Kelly, children Austin, Bennet, Sydney, and grandson, William; sister-in-law, Juanita Sandoval and family; and many special nieces and nephews. His maternal grandfather was born in Santa Fe during the Civil War and his paternal grandfather was born in the Espanola Valley under Spanish government. John worked for the United States Post Office in Laramie, WY for 30 years when he retired. He served as a Volunteer Ombudsman for the Elderly in Las Vegas, NM. He was a member of the VFW in Mora, NM. As a World War II veteran, he served his country in the United States Army in the Admiralty Islands in the South Pacific from 1943-1945. John served as a member of the school board for Albany County School District in Laramie, WY. Burial service will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at 10:30 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
