Donald J Saso, age 71, was released from the limitations of his physical body on Saturday, August 27, 2016 following a valiant 7-year battle with renal failure and its complications. Don served in Vietnam as an ETN3 in the US Navy from 1963-1969. He retired from Lucent Technologies at the end of a 37-year career with “the phone company”. Don asked to be remembered as someone who did the best he could for all whose lives he touched. Don is survived by his wife, Carol (Petersen), brothers Edward and Richard (Karen) of California, son Dan of California, daughter Diana (Julian Cook) of Devon, England, stepchildren Don Hughston, Melisa Hatcher, Amy Hughston, Tess Creger and John Barnes, all of Colorado as well as 7 grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Virginia (LoBue) Saso and his niece, Patricia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Denver Hospice at www.thedenverhospice.org. On the donation page you are invited to indicate that your donation is in memory of Donald Saso with notifications to his wife Carol. If you need her address, please ask any immediate family member.
