Always Remembered

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Charles A. Surprenant of Melbourne, Florida on May 18th in the year of our Lord 2024. Chuck, as his family and friends called him, will forever be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and love for a good debate. Born in Ware, Massachusetts, July 7th, 1951, to parents Albert and Bernice Surprenant. Chuck was the middle child of two siblings.

Later in life, after starting a family of his own, he moved his young family to Maine where he and the love of his life, his wife Susan (who predeceased him in 2017) raised their 3 children. The two of them were inseparable and shared their love for each other, New England, and the outdoors with their children.

Next to his family, his greatest accomplishment, of which he was very proud, was his career spanning 30+ years in the electronics manufacturing industry. As a production Manager with companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation, SCI/Sanmina, and Rockwell Collins. Chuck, he was a great leader and mentor. He made a name for himself in his ability to quickly improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and improve customer satisfaction levels to near or at 100%, time and time again.

Chuck was a hard worker, devoted father, husband, and friend to many (seriously though he could make friends in any situation, even in line at the grocery store). To have known him is to love him. He will forever be missed.

Chuck is survived by his kitty Jesse, his eldest son Donnie Surprenant, and his life partner Rachael. James Surprenant and his wife Chelsea. Daughter April and her husband David Panizza. As well as four grandchildren, Delilah, Charles, Samuel, and Owen. Chuck also leaves behind his older sister Marie and husband Charlie Miller, younger brother Mark Surprenant & wife Terry. Additionally, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

There will be a service in his memory, Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ammen Family in Palm Bay, Florida. A second service will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta, Maine (definitive date TBD), followed by a burial service at Saint Augustine Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
