All Veterans Funeral & Cremation - Wheat Ridge
James "Jim" Dolan
May 10th, 1936 - September 16th, 2018
James “Jim” Dolan, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 16 in Lakewood, CO, with family by his side. Jim was born May 10, 1936 in Newton, Mass. to John and Florence (Strayhorn) Dolan. After serving 8 years in the US Air Force, Jim became a sheriff in Denver where he later retired to become an entrepreneur. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends where he would entertain them with stories. Every Christmas you would see Jim in a Santa suit, and, if you couldn’t find him any other time of the year, he was likely playing poker “up the hill.” He was the resident president and the unofficial “mayor” of Western Hills Care Center. Jim is survived by his three daughters, Michelle (Mike) Burke, Denise (Craig) Wittrig, and Sharon (Brian) Werner; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brothers Joe Dolan of NY and John (Nina) Dolan of Conn.; sisters Jean (Les) Garrett of PA, Cathy (John) Persson of Ill., and Ann Marie (Don) Sataline of Conn. He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Dolan, and sons-in-law Rusty Eckhardt and Brian Werner.
