Anthony “Tony” Edward Warde died peacefully on Wednesday February 16, 2011. Born November 6, 1945 to Jake and Nancy Warde in Denver, Colorado, Tony graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1963. Tony entered the Coast Guard, serving four years on several West Coast bases and received a medal for his efforts saving a life at sea. Tony then returned to Colorado where he completed an undergraduate degree at Colorado State University. He married Theresa Uhrich in 1979. For about 15 years Tony ran a small farm in Windsor, Colorado. Tony enjoyed farm life and raising his two sons Craig and Casey there. The family moved to Denver in the 1990’s. He was a devoted father. While in Denver, Craig and Casey attended Columbine High School and Tony enjoyed watching his sons participate on many athletic teams. A special highlight was Casey’s participation on the 1999 and 2000 State Football Championship Teams. Tony had a lifelong interest in photography and was quite artistic. In recent years health issues kept Tony from full-time work but he continued to devote his energy to his family. He will unfortunately miss the birth of his first grandchild due to be born this month to Craig and Heather Warde, an event he was enthusiastically awaiting. He was a loving brother to his siblings Peter, Tim, and Jake and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was a great help to his Dad, E.D. “Jake” Warde. Tony is survived by his son Craig, of Lakewood, his son Casey, of Denver, his brother Peter, of Denver, his brother Tim of Greeley, his brother Jake of the San Francisco Bay Area, and his father E.D. “Jake” Warde of Denver. The family is holding a private memorial celebration of Tony’s life. The family suggests that contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
