Herman Raymond Mares We regret to announce the passing of Herman Raymond Mares, 89, of Lakewood, Colorado, on April 16, 2021. Herman, a U.S. Army veteran, served in the Korean war. He died of natural causes peacefully at his home. Herman was predeceased by his siblings Henry, Francis, Jenny, Corina, and Dave; his daughter, Vivian Maes; and his grandson, Randy Vondrak. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mares; his two sisters, Pearl and Ruth; his children, Richard Mares, Cynthia Mares, Cheryl Vondrak, Gregory Mares; and many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our father, grandfather, uncle and friend will be forever loved and forever remembered. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:45 p.m. at St. Paul’s Community Church in Lakewood, Colorado. The committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Golden Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Lakewood Event Center, 7864 W. Jewell Ave., Lakewood, CO. Guests are welcome. Due to COVID-19, the family will be practicing social distancing and requests that all guests wear a mask at all events
