Christa Marie Nelson

Christa Marie Sophie Ranglack Nelson Christa Marie Sophie Ranglack Nelson, age 72, of Littleton, CO, passed away on September 11, 2021 after suffering a heart attack. Christa was born on May 19, 1949 to Hans and Sophie Ranglack in Berlin, Germany. Her family moved to Salt Lake City, UT in the early 50s. After graduating from Murray High School in Murray, UT, she earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History from the University of Utah. She worked for May D&F and AT&T before returning to school. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver School of Law in 1990, and worked as a family attorney until her retirement in 2016. Christa married Gaylon Nelson on April 3, 1970. They were married for 42 years and had two daughters, Tanya and Kimberly. Following Gaylon’s passing in 2012, Christa married David Bush in August 2015. Christa loved learning, and her passion for history led her to travel all over the world, visiting 4 continents and scores of different countries. She particularly enjoyed medieval history, and took multiple tours of Europe. Her passions included reading, listening to Barry Manilow, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Christa was predeceased by her husband, Gaylon Nelson, her parents, Hans and Sophie Ranglack, and her brother, Clifford Ranglack. She is survived by her second husband, David Bush, her siblings, Claudia Ranglack, Claus (Carol) Ranglack, Katy (Alan) Abildskov, and Douglas (Doreen) Ranglack, her daughters, Tanya (Richard) Mazur and Kimberly (Christopher) Roenfeldt, and her five grandchildren, Kristina (Miguel) Ochoa, Rebecca Mazur, Sara Mazur, Sawyer Roenfeldt, and Sydney Roenfeldt.
