Iva Jean Reefe

Iva Jean Reefe (Jean), was born Iva Jean Knowlton on November 8, 1930 in Mankato, Kansas to Charles Gilbert Knowlton and Opal Elmira Place. She passed at Mountain Vista Senior Home in Wheatridge, Colorado on April 23, 2023 at the age of 92. Jean was the 5th in a family of 8 children. She moved to Roggen Colorado at the age of 11, and graduated from Manual High School. She worked as a secretary until she married the love of her life, Joseph Patrick Reefe (Pat). They were married on December 2, 1950, at The Ascension Catholic Church in Denver Colorado, and settled in southwest Denver, where they raised a family of eight children, 6 girls and 2 boys. They were married for over 68 years until the passing of Pat in 2019. She converted to Catholicism and they were long time members of All Saints Catholic Parish and Notre Dame Catholic Parish. She loved reading, music, singing, dancing, games, bowling, skiing, golf, the Broncos and family events. She was preceded in death by her husband Pat and son John, and is survived by 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; a brother, 2 sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Services are to be held at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave., Littleton, Colorado, 80128 on May 12, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow.
