John Osterberg’s Obituary John Nils Osterberg, 88, died on December 21, 2023 after a long illness. His funeral services will be held on Friday January 5th at 9:30 am at Fort Logan Cemetery and then at 1 pm at Cherry Creek Presbyterian. He was born on June 13, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN to Kenneth and Evelyn Osterberg. He had one older brother, Kenneth, Jr. and a younger sister, Susan. He attended the University of Minnesota for a couple of years. Then as a young man he enlisted in the Army and served 4 years in Germany. During this time, he married his first wife, Geraldine, and had his son, Kevin. Upon returning to the states, he completed his degree at the University of Minnesota. The majority of his career was spent as a financial officer for Frontier Airlines in Denver. It was during this time in Denver when he divorced Gerry and married Donna in July 1973. In early 1974 John adopted Donna’s three boys, Byron, Dwight, and Andrew. And such a family began…. John retired in 1990 at the age of 55. He never really retired but started a second career. He was a soft-spoken man, kind, and generous. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, sister, 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
