Kenneth Leslie Nelson, 85 of Cloquet died Friday, November 17, 2006 in his home. He was born October 12, 1921 in Wrenshall to Herman and Vira (Palmer) Nelson. Ken grew up and attended school in Wrenshall. During the late 30's and early 40's he worked in the CCC Camps in Grand Marais. During World War II, he proudly served his country in the Air Force. In 1947, Ken began working at Northwest Paper where he worked for the next 37 years, retiring from Potlatch in 1984. On July 20, 1963 he married Gladys Konsti in Cloquet. Ken was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cloquet VFW, and the Potlatch Quarter Century Club. Ken enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, and camping. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilbur; sisters, Dorothy Crocker, Hazel Mundell; and granddaughter, Kacey Davey. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gladys; son, Kurt (Rhonda Johnson) of Esko; daughters, Gail (Earl) Ulvi and Gina (Lee) Seguin both of Cloquet; brother, Robert (Norma) Nelson of Cloquet; sister, Luella McKinley of Lubbock, TX; and grandchildren, Jessica and Andrea Nelson, Hailey Ulvi, Darrell Davey, and Douglas Seguin. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
