September 12th, 1938 - July 18th, 2003
Mariann J. McKibbon, 64, Barnum, died Friday, July 18, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake, with her loving family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 12, 1938 in Sparta, Wisconsin, the daughter of Archie and Ilene (Conaway) Ableiter. She was a 1956 graduate of Wrenshall High School. Mariann married Russell McKibbon on March 14, 1960 in Brainerd. She enjoyed playing cribbage, bingo, fishing, bowling and riding motorcycles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Ilene Ableiter. Mariann is survived by her husband of 43 years, Russell, of Barnum; two sons, Brett McKibbon of Carlton and Jeffrey McKibbon of Mesa, AZ; three step-children, Greg McKibbon and Scott (Wendy) McKibbon, both of Cloquet and Marlene (Bill) Huima of Esko; and two brothers, Donald (Pat) Ableiter of Circle Pines, MN and James (Velda) Ableiter of Wrenshall. A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 24, 2003 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet followed by a luncheon in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Private family inurnment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet.
