Betty Anne Bonneville, 82 of Cloquet, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Edgewood Vista in Hermantown. She was born October 28, 1924 in Lake Beulah, Wisconsin, the first child of William and Frances Treffinger. Betty married Wilbur Bonneville on July 27, 1942 in Milwaukee. After their marriage, they made their home in Duluth. In 1957, Wilbur and Betty purchased a farm and moved to Esko and in the mid 1970's they moved to Cloquet. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary, a knitting club, a gardening club, a clothing fashion club, and a reading club. She was also a cub scout Den Mother. As a young mother Betty enjoyed baking, while mature Betty enjoyed traveling abroad. She visited the medieval city of Rothenberg on the Tauber River, in Germany; was blessed by Pope John Paul II while visiting the Vatican City in Rome; and she stood at the site where St. Mary appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal. Although critically slowed down from travel, she remained interested and conversant in history and world affairs to the very end. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; a son, Steven Bonneville; a grandson, Michael Bonneville II; two great granddaughters, Jordyn Bowman and Anna Marie Bonneville; brothers, William Jr. and Richard Treffinger; and sisters, Jean Moon and Barbara Wardrop. Betty is survived by her children, Tom (Sharon) Treffinger of Albuquerque, NM, Michael (Helga) of Hopewell, VA, Gary (Susan) of Singapore, Phillip (Toni) of Champlin, MN, Paul "Buddy" (Pam) of Brandon, FL, Yvonne (Jerry) Hilton of Two Harbors, Susan (Sam) Evans of Waverly, Iowa, Deborah Bonneville of Duluth and Mary (Brett) Zinmer of Maple, WI; sisters, Donna (Paul) Fritz and Patricia Hughes both of Wisconsin; 41 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Entombment was in Sunrise Memorial Park in Hermantown.
