View Slide Show Bernard Frank Moder, 82, Barnum, died Monday, August 22, 2005 in St. Raphael Health Rehabilitation Center, Eveleth. He was born to Frank and Pearl (Windhauser) Moder on November 22, 1922 in Ashland, WI. Berny was a 1941 graduate of Denfeld High School. He worked at US Steel and then worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital from 1959 until 1985. He loved to fish and hunt and was a member of the DAV and Bad River Indian Reservation. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nellie Gemmill and a brother, Leslie Moder. Berny is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sonia of Barnum; four daughters, Ruth (Dale) Nordstrom of Moose Lake, Rae Ann Anderson of Lindstrom, MN, Beth (Ken) Berg of Chandler, AZ and Melody (David) Swenson of Cotton; a son, Randy (Dianna) Moder of Moose Lake; three sisters, Frances Westlund and Vora Lindberg, both of Superior and Patricia Towle of Avon Park, FL; a brother Merwin (Jean) Moder of Duluth; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of St. Raphael for their loving and compassionate care they expressed and gave to Berny A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Memorials may be made to the Activity Fund-St. Raphael's Rehab Center or to the Barnum Citizen Scholarship Foundation. View Slide Show
