James L. Johnson, 50 of Carlton died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born in 1957 in St. Cloud to Francis and JoAnn Johnson. Jim grew up in St. Cloud, Fargo and in 1971 the family moved to Cloquet. Jim has worked as a baker since he was 13 years old and has owned and operated the Moose Lake Bakery since 1998. He enjoyed fishing. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Francis; and brothers, Randy and Ronald. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Doris; his son, David of Kettle River; daughters, Christine (Tyson) Warner of Cromwell, Bobbi Jo (Chris) Bruce of Fargo, North Dakota, and Amanda (Josh) Mattson of Carlton; his mother, JoAnn Johnson of Cloquet; brothers, Dale and Danny both of Cloquet; sisters, Debbie (Steve) Fall of Wrenshall, Penny (Clayton) Bassett and Nancy (Daniel) Manty both of Cloquet; four grandchildren, Scooter, Channy, Peanut, and Mylee; several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Bud. A gathering of family and friends was held on Sunday, August 26, 2007 in the Fireside Room of Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
