Mary Belle Mitchell, 83, of Cloquet, was surrounded by her family when she died Monday, February 16, 2015 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet. She was born in 1931, the daughter of Jack and Grace Shonyo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; and two brothers, Russell and Harold Shonyo. Mary is survived by children, Mark of Duluth, Carmen (Manny) Kalenberg of Kissimee, FL, and Mike (Sharri) of Cloquet; two grandchildren, Tyler and Brandon Mitchell; siblings, Albert (Jean) Shonyo of Big Lake and Donald (Diana) Shonyo of Elk River; June Galatz of Wrenshall, Carolyn (Larry) Matykiewicz of New Braunfels, TX, Marion (Jack) Bergstrom of Inver Grove Heights, and Margaret (David) Levenhagen of Ellsworth, WI: and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Sunnyside Health Care Center for the wonderful care given to Mary. A gathering of family and friends was held on Saturday, February 28, 2016 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
