Larry Dale VanDerWerff

Larry Dale VanDerWerff, 65 of Duluth died Saturday, May 15, 2010 in his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1944 in Worthington, Minn. to Lynn and Dorothy VanDerWerff. In 1956 the family moved to Barnum and Larry graduated from Barnum High School in 1962. Larry worked for Diamond Tool in Duluth for many years. He was also a taxi driver for Allied Taxi. Larry was an Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and picking agates. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; father Lynn; and sister, Lynda Duesler. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Bob) Shore of Worthington, Minn.; brothers, Donald (Judy) of Thomson and Virgil (Dawn) of Cloquet; sister, Doris (Rodney) Dahl of Barnum; brother-in-law, Kenneth Duesler of Barnum; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Inurnment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
