Arden Lee Sorenson, 51 of Cromwell died Thursday, March 21, 2002 in his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born May 12, 1950 in Appleton, Minnesota to Arnold and Ruby (Dopp) Sorenson. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Wright. He graduated from Floodwood High School in 1969. Arden married Lois Lind on April 25, 1970 in Wright. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in construction, for International Harvester in Duluth and for the past 16 years he worked at Owens Corning in Minneapolis. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Local Union 563, and he enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Merlyn and Ronald and his father, Arnold. Arden is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Sherie (Adam) Warpeha and their daughter, Mikayla of Minneapolis; sons, Michael of Brooklyn Center and Randy and his son, Alexander Kropp of Cromwell; his mother, Ruby Olsen of Wright; brothers, Richard (Lucy) of Arlington, Texas, Dale (Sandy) of Milwaukee, Dennis (Rhodell) of Mountain Home, Idaho, Jerry (Julie) of St. Francis and Chester of Wright; sisters, Marlys (Willie) Cartwright of Brainerd and his twin sister, Ardelle (Bob) Besch of Wright; his mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Eleanor Lind of Wright. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 25, 2002 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Wright. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
