Russell "Rusty" William Hoglund, 65, of Esko, passed away October 31, 2014. He was born on March 12, 1949 to Russell and Margaret Hoglund. He grew up in Superior, Wisconsin, graduating from Superior Cathedral High School in 1967 and the University of Wisconsin, Superior in 1971 with a degree in political science. He began his career in the real estate business in Duluth. In 1986, he and a partner formed Superior Steel, Inc. and opened a fabricating shop in Duluth. Rusty later became the sole owner and moved the business to Superior in 2004. Rusty was a member of the Duluth Chamber of Commerce, past president and member of the Arrowhead Manufacturers and Fabricators Association, and served on the Advisory Council for The Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank representing small business. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rusty is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter, Kristina Hoglund of Minneapolis; stepson, Kyle (Tatum) Marinkovich of Minneapolis; brothers, Richard (Susan) Hoglund of Punta Gorda, Florida and Robert Hoglund of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Derek Hanson and Owen and Kellen Marinkovich; and nieces and nephews, Max, Maggie and Morgan Hoglund and Richard, Bradley and Laura Hoglund.
