Jean Estelle Westerlund
November 27th, 1932 - October 25th, 2006
Jean E. Westerlund, 73, of Cromwell, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born in Houston, Minnesota on November 27, 1932 and was the first of five children born to Kenneth and Blanche (Line) Kingsley. Jean graduated from Cromwell High School in 1951. On June 27, 1953 she married George Westerlund at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. She was employed as a bookkeeper by the Cromwell Cooperative Creamery for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Jean and her husband also farmed for many years. Jean was a kindhearted, generous person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, music and visiting with others. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth J. Kingsley II, a nephew, Kenneth J. Kingsley III, and a grand nephew, Ricky Larson. Jean is survived by her husband of 53 years, George; three sisters, June (Arnold) Collman, Carole (Art) Hill and Kathleen Entner, all of Cromwell; sisters-in-law, June Kingsley and Margaret (Douglas) Sewell both of Cromwell; brother-in-law, Leo (Ann) Westerlund of New Brighton; a godchild and niece, Nicole (Myles) Rowe of Ironwood, MI; 12 other special nieces and nephews, as well as many other family and friends. Memorial Services were held Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Inurnment was in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
