Todd Hamilton Peyton
October 25th, 1994 - October 11th, 2019
Todd Hamilton Peyton, 24, of Cloquet passed away October 11, 2019. Todd was born October 25, 1994, in Duluth to Todd and Marie Peyton. Todd had many passions and talents in life and so much that he loved. If Todd ever made you a meal, you were lucky. If he shared one of his favorite restaurants with you, you were full. If you've traveled with him, you've experienced childlike wonder and adventure. And if you've spent any amount of time with Todd, you've laughed, known a good prank and likely know an opinion or two that he holds. Todd loved the outdoors. From an early age one of his greatest joys was to spend time amongst nature—from kayaking in the boundary waters to hiking in Jay Cooke to camping and building fires at his Pappy's hunting shack. Todd found peace in the open air, especially in the company of a sunrise. Todd's love for art was diverse and wide-ranging; he appreciated his great grandpa John's artwork, taking his time working his way through a museum—and there is a good chance you could find him in either a Grateful Dead t-shirt or flannel making music with his friends. Todd had a way with words that can only come from someone with a heightened intuition and genuine compassion. He had a deep understanding for what was true in this world. Todd held his people close to his heart. His family and friends were his reason for being. His dad was his hero and best friend. His mom was his confidant, always. His niece and nephew were a safe place to be himself. He was a gentle soul with a big heart, sewn together by the people he loved, song lyrics, and a good laugh. Todd was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his parents, Todd & Marie Peyton; sisters, Aili & Julia; brothers-in-law, Charlie & Chase; nephew, Henry; niece, Alice; grandparents, Larre and Julie Orebaugh "Nanny and Pappy", Barbara Peyton "Grandma Barb"; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and all the friends he held so close to his heart. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spread love and kindness, give to those in need—Todd would have wanted that. A special thank you to Alex Tulp for the original song written in Todd's memory. "If you're goin' to walk on ice, you might as well dance." -Todd's notebook Private family services will be held.
