Marjorie Hadro Wood
November 30th, 0002 - November 8th, 2017
Marjorie (Jerrie) Hadro Wood, age 94, died peacefully Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Northfield, MN. Her family will honor Jerrie's life with a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14 at Lumen Christi Church, 2055 Bohland Ave, St Paul, MN. Friends may visit at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Fort Snelling cemetery at 2 p.m. Jerrie was born on September 14,1923 in Springfield, Massachusetts, daughter of George and Alice (Lafferty) Carter. She relocated to St. Paul after her marriage to Edward L. Hadro in 1946. Ten years after Edward's death in 1982, Jerrie married Wallie Wood and moved to Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada where she enjoyed getting to know Wallie's children and grandchildren. She returned to St. Paul after Wallie's death in 2005, and moved to Northfield in 2016. Jerrie fulfilled many roles in her long, wonderful life. As mother of six, she found herself offering meals, guidance and, occasionally, comfort to her children and their friends. She was a long-time Secretary/Office Manager at Tapemark in West St. Paul. Although she didn't care to watch or play sports, she helped form a little league baseball association for boys and later coached her older daughter's basketball and softball teams at St. Luke elementary school. For Jerrie, life was all about relationships. Everyone she met was a potential friend. She enjoyed reading, bingo, wordsearch, and helping others. Above all, she loved being a grandmother. She is survived by her sister, Mary Wilkins of St. Johnsbury, VT, and her children, Teri, a BVM Sister, Timothy (Marcia), Chuck (Terri), John (Brenda), and Jane (Mark Sand) and grandchildren Josh, Andrew, Chuck, jr., Joe, Sarah, Nate, Noah, Elissa, Adam, Joel, and Amelia, as well as eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Edward and Wallie, an infant son, her oldest son Edward, and her granddaughter Kristin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund. The family would like to thank the staff at Northfield Parkview East and at Minnesota Hospice for providing wonderful care to Marjorie.
