John W. Lambros
August 28th, 1923 - July 6th, 2022
John W. Lambros, age 98 of Arden Hills, passed away on July 6, 2022. John was born in St. Paul, MN, graduated from Central High and attended the University of Minnesota. John entered the Army and became a decorated Ranger earning 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts in WWII. Following the War, he joined his Father, an immigrant of Greece, in the coffee importing and roasting business (M.B. Coffee Company) that grew into one of the leading institutional coffee providers in the Midwest. As a successful entrepreneur, he later started a successful office coffee and vending business. He was an active, life-long member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and supported many other organizations including the Order of AHEPA, Shriner’s, American Legion to name a few. John was proud of his Greek heritage, keeping ties to family in Greece and starting the Greek Studies program at the Immigration History Research Center at the U of M. John and beloved wife Nancy also supported many immigrants who came to the US to establish their families. John was an active hunter, participated and supported many wildlife programs. He was especially proud of planting tens of thousands of trees to establish long-term habitat for wildlife. John will be remembered for his generosity. Throughout his life, he gave his time, attention and resources to help family, faith, friends, and organizations dear to him. A special thanks to the wonderful and dedicated care givers at Johanna Shores and Optage Hospice, who with grace and professionalism provided care and comfort to John in his final days. Preceded in death by parents John C. and Constance, his loving wife Nancy and son in law Joe Schuster. John is survived by his children John G., Kathryn (Schuster), Steven (Rose); grandchildren Alexis McKague (Scott), Steven (Schuster); greatgrandchildren Parker and Caroline McKague; nieces, nephews and godchildren. Visitation to be held at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave, St. Paul, MN July 10, from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service to be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1111 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105 July 11 at 11AM. Burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
