John "Jack/Hula" G. Burns, Sr.

Age 89, of St. Paul, died October 20, 2022. Preceded in death by beloved wife Anita (Wood); son John Gregory, Jr., parents George and Ann Burns; brothers Richard and Patrick; and sister Georgia Ann. Survived by children Anita (Cliff) Twaroski, Mark (Christine Sagstetter), Hanna (Mark) Younce, Rev. James Patrick, IVD, Dan (Rachel), and George (Shelly); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Paul; sisters Mary Margaret and Mary Alice; daughter-in-law Dora; sister-in-law Mary Ann Shetka and many other relatives and friends. Visitation 5-8 PM Tuesday at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul, 651-228-1006. Funeral leaving the funeral home at 10:05 AM Wednesday, October 26. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Agnes, 548 Lafond Ave., St. Paul. Luncheon to follow at St. Agnes in Msgr. Schuler Hall. Interment after lunch at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, offering for memorial Masses and/or donations to the Church of St. Agnes, Little Sisters of the Poor, or Carmelite Nuns of Lake Elmo.
