Patricia Mary Scarrella
May 5th, 1955 - March 17th, 2024
Patty Maher Scarrella With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Patricia Mary Maher Scarrella, aged 68, of St. Paul, MN, who peacefully departed to be with the Lord on March 17, 2024. Patty was born on May 5, 1955, in Chicago, IL, to the loving embrace of Philip and Bette Maher. She was one of three cherished children, alongside her siblings Karen Goldade and Philip Maher Jr. After attending Huron High School in Huron, SD, Patty pursued higher education at South Dakota State University. Following a dedicated career in teaching in South Dakota, she embarked on a new chapter in Minnesota, where she found fulfillment working for the US Postal Service. It was there that she crossed paths with her beloved husband, Bob Scarrella, and they joined in marriage on July 20, 2002. Patty's radiant spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew her. She found immense joy in the company of her nieces and nephews, who brought laughter and vitality to her days, especially when they lent their tech-savvy expertise. Patty cherished family vacations movies, leisurely walks, and the companionship of her furry friends. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Bob Scarrella; her stepmother Alvina Timm Maher; step-siblings Rod Timm, Donna & Bill Nelson, Mark & Pam Timm, and Tammy Timm; her sister, Karen Goldade, & brother-in-law, Jeff Goldade; her niece, Cameron & Brian McCarthy, great nephew, Benjamin McCarthy; nephews Brent & Kendra Goldade, great nephews, Grady Goldade, and Chris Goldade; her brother, Phil Maher Jr., sister-in-law, Cris Maher, niece, Veronica & Chris Hoppe, nephew, Cristian Maher, and niece, Mattie Maher. Patty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Philip and Bette Maher. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Wiwerscheid Funeral Home, 1167 Grand Ave., St. Paul, MN 55105, on Wednesday, April 24th from 3 to 6 pm, and a burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Thursday, April 25th at 1:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 12:45 pm. Her sudden departure has left an indelible void in our hearts, profoundly felt by her family and the multitude of individuals whose lives she touched. The family is deeply grateful for your support during this challenging time and kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance
