Patricia Ione Stasny

Patricia Ione Stasny, of Eau Galle, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Carondelet Village in St. Paul, MN. She was born on October 26, 1930, in Durand, WI, the daughter of Harry and Alice (Wood) Sinz, and youngest sister of Jack Sinz, Jeanne Sinz (Hartung), and Mary Jane Sinz (Friedli). After graduating from Durand High School in 1947, she moved to Minneapolis where she met Richard Jerome Stasny. They were married on May 31, 1952, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle, WI. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2011. During her lifetime, she was a homemaker, raised three daughters, and was an active Girl Scout leader. In the 1970’s, she began working as a secretary for the Project Discovery Program at Cathedral Grade School in St. Paul, MN, where she met the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, who she loved and was loved by. She visited her many friends at Bethany Convent as they grew older. Eventually she moved to Carondelet Village where she could go to daily mass with the Sisters. She was lovingly cared for through her time there in memory care. She was also an excellent golfer and seamstress. Pat was a wonderful hostess, her family and friends looked forward to her holiday gatherings and Christmas cookies. She is survived by three daughters; Peggy (and Kevin) O’Brien of North Branch, MN; Jeanne Ross of Hudson, WI; Mary Lu (and Mike) Kivel of West St. Paul, MN; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and many lifelong friends. Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 515 Albert St S, Saint Paul, MN at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon immediately to follow. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 15. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
