Donald Ott Donald (Don) Kenneth Ott, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb 16, 2019. Don was born in West Allis on March 20, 1928, to Mabel (Robinson) and Edward Ott, Sr. He married the love of his life, Lorraine “Jackie” (Groehler) on October 9, 1948 in Watertown. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before she passed away February 1, 2001. Don grew up farming which instilled a strong work ethic. He held several jobs throughout his life, including UW Whitewater, Thomas Industries, and Nasco. Finally, he worked for Jefferson County Human Services before deciding to retire at the age of 80. Don enjoyed bowling, camping, golfing and building airplane models. He also enjoyed helping his sisters Nancy and Joann either on the farm or around the house as he was very proud to be their big brother. You could frequently find him watching scary movies, listening to polka music and sharing sweet treats with his great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but the family’s memories will live on forever, and they are comforted knowing that he is in Heaven dancing with his wife Jackie. Surviving are his children, Donna Schaefer of Neenah, Richard (Reba) of Bradenton, FL, Roger (Carol) of Whitewater, Doug (Barb) of Madison, and Sandy (Tim) Linton of Menomonee Falls. Seven grandchildren; Michelle Schaefer, Matthew Schaefer, Joseph Schaefer, Lori Mueller, Christopher Ott, Levi Ott, and Sarah Viera. Thirteen great grandchildren, Two sisters, Nancy Bigelow of Whitewater and Joann (Donald) Westphall of Whitewater. Don was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and one brother. There will be no visitation or service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Nitardy Funeral Home is assisting the family. www.nitardyfuneralhome.com

Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
