Beverly "Hescock" Gail Hamlin
January 8th, 1933 - March 5th, 2013
We celebrate the life of Beverly Gail Hamlin (Hescock) of Portland OR., age 80. She was born January 8, 1933 and passed March 5, 2013 at Portland Adventist of congestive heart failure. Gail was born in Tacoma Washington, the daughter of Austin and Claribel Hescock. She is survived by her brothers Lonnie, Martin, Terry Hescock and sister Sandy Ruyle. Her most cherished accomplishment was her Family. She leaves behind sons Mark, David (Sue), Michael (Barb) and daughters Kathy Miller (Steve) and Carolyn Tuchtenhagen (Jim), Grandchildren Renee Jamison (Ethan), Cory Miller, Lauryl Borgstrom (Patrick), Ryan Rund (Meg) and Kayla Tuchtenhagen, Great Grandchildren Tristan, Braeden, Jayden, Landon, Atticus and Makenna. She is preceded in death by daughter Christine. Gail graduated from Snohomish High School in 1950 and went to work for Boeing where she met her (former) husband Ben Hamlin and began her family. Moving to Portland in 1964, Gail went to work for Omark Industries (now Blunt Chainsaw) where she continued to work until her retirement in 1995. After retiring, she was able to take a wonderful trip to Greece and then settled into a peaceful retirement surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 6705 SE 14th Ave, Portland OR 97202. Viewing will be available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm prior to the service and available again after the service. Please join the family at a reception immediately following the service. At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks....
