Verner Frank Granholm, 90 of Cloquet died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in Chris Jensen Nursing Home in Duluth. He was born August 17, 1915 in Cloquet to Nestor and Sophia Granholm. He married Agnes Siiter on June 4, 1935 in Cloquet. He worked as a carpenter millwright in construction for Union Local 1844 until retiring in 1977. Verner loved the outdoors and fishing. He could fix or repair anything. Verner was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes in 1965; a son, Paul in 1967; two brothers, Bill and John; and one sister, Ailie Granholm. He is survived by his daughter, Jean A. Granholm of Cloquet; two grandchildren, Jason and Jodi; four great granddaughters; and three nephews, Jim, David, and Richard Granholm. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 18, 2006 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet. Memorial contributions may be made to Chris Jensen Nursing Home.
