Dale Miller Peterson
November 30th, 1941 - January 9th, 2012
Dale Miller Peterson, 70 of Esko died Monday, January 9, 2012 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born November 30, 1941 in St. Paul to Rev. Harold and Muriel Peterson. He grew up in Cambridge and at the age of eight, his family moved to Moose Lake. He graduated from high school in 1960. He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1964 from Gustavus Adolphus College and in 1966 he received his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota School of Social Work. On June 25, 1966 Dale married Sandra Josephson in Duluth. Dale worked as a social worker for the Winnebago State Hospital, Bethany Home for Children, St. Louis County Social Services, Moose Lake Regional Treatment Center, and was the director of the Bridge House in Duluth until retiring in 2005. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Duluth. Dale enjoyed attending local sporting events of any kind. Dale will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Sandra; his two children, Eric (Sarah) Peterson of Esko and Sara (David) Rice of Cloquet; his four grandchildren, Haylee, Maddison, Dawson, and Kazden Rice; brother, Ralph (Birgitta) Peterson; and nephews and niece, Blake (Jessica) Josephson, Kristofer (Chloe) Peterson, and Lori (Mike) Luther. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Ave., in Duluth. Inurnment was in Oneota Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the OSLC Bell Choir. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
