Robert G. Anderson, 77, Cloquet, died Thursday, October 28, 2004 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital. He was born February 25, 1927 in Duluth, the son of Vernon and Dorothy (Richolson) Anderson. Bob graduated from Denfeld High School where he played football. After high school he served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge from the Navy, Bob attended UMD, where he played on the first UMD hockey team and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in International Law. Bob married his wife, Delores, on July 15, 1967 in Cloquet. Throughout his career, Bob worked in sales. After college, he worked in St. Paul for Swift and Company. Then, he worked for the family business, Anderson Furniture, in Duluth. He then worked for the Midwest region of Wallace Pharmaceuticals, followed by Murphy Motor Freight and Goldfines in Duluth. Bob worked for Wood City Furniture in Cloquet where he retired in 1990. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, traveling with his friends and previously was a coach for youth hockey and recreational softball. Bob will be fondly remembered as enjoying life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara, in 1965 and his wife, Delores on February 19, 2001. Bob is survived by his children, Barry (Mary) Hintz of Esko, Leslie (David) Douglas of Carlton, Scott R. Anderson of Carlton, Thomas W. Hintz (Terri Maki) of Grand Rapids, Scott (Nancy) Hintz of Champlin, Sara (Greg) Connor of Duluth and Robert H. Anderson of Cloquet; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (Dick) Hoff of San Francisco, CA; a niece, Katie Hoff and a nephew, Chris (Rochelle) Hoff. Private family services were held. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th, Street, Cloquet.
