Hilda D. Black

Hilda D. Black, 99 of Cloquet died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born August 19, 1907 in Thomson Township to Frank and Anna (Pykkonen) Hill. Hilda married John Black on October 10, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. Hilda had been employed by Weyerheuser in Cloquet. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Esko Senior Citizens, Larson Commons Bible Class and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, John; six brothers, Leonard, Frank "Emil", Walter, Raymond, Clifford and Edward Hill; 3 sisters, Helmi Hendrickson, Viena Johnson Myrmel, and Helen Myrmel; a son-in-law, Warren Weske and an infant grandson, Michael Black. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Weske of Moose Lake; sons, William (Josie) Black of Ham Lake, MN and David (Bonnie) Black of Esko; sister, Bernice McBride of Carlton; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Hill of Esko and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 13, 2006 in Northland Funeral Home Chapel, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial was in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Esko.
