Norma Alice Cartwright

Norma Alice Cartwright, 85, of Vernon Hill, VA, died peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2007 in Cloquet with her loving family by her side. She was born in Cloquet on May 22, 1921 to Orrin and Laura (Fish) Wait. Norma attended Cloquet High School. She married Don Russell Cartwright on July 7, 1938 in Carlton. She worked as an aide for Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital and Dr. Butler's Maternity Hospital delivering babies. She also owned and operated a home upholstery shop, and was a homemaker. Norma loved her gardening with a passion. She also enjoyed quilting, digging for and collecting bottles, hunting, rug weaving, doing ceramics, making dolls, working on genealogy and she loved the little babies. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Sharon; son, Don; grandson, Russell; parents; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by one son, Kevin (Tamara) of Esko; two daughters, Marilyn Johnson and Deborah (Jim) King both of Vernon Hill, VA; 11 grandchildre, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Norma was the last survivor of Orrin and Laura Wait. A Celebration of Norma's life was held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
