William Ernest Richardson, 78, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday June 5, 2024, at his
residence.
Born September 10, 1945, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Reginald Mallory and
Irene Evelyn Ferguson Richardson. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA.
He was a veteran of the United State Marines and served in the Vietnam War. In his early
career he worked for Peoples Drug Store in Northern Virginia. Upon moving to Lynchburg, VA
he worked as a security guard. He also was a school bus driver for the Amherst County School
system.
He is survived by two sons, Brian Richardson and his wife Kristen of Newark, DE; Kevin
Richardson and his wife Jennifer of Roanoke, VA; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024. at 11:00 A.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel
with Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Lynchburg American
Legion Post 16.
