Gregory Allen Petry of Summerfield, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Greg was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to Everett Wray Petry and Betty Carol Dent on April 13, 1965. The family soon moved to Orlando, Florida, where Greg spent his formative years and met the love of his life, Ginger Faith Denton. They were married on August 26, 1989 and moved to Ocala, Florida, where they went on to have three beautiful children, Tori (32), Savannah (27) and Chase (26).

Greg started his professional career as the General Manager for the Ocala branch of his father’s truck parts business, Gear and Wheel. In 1995, when the Internet boom was just beginning, Greg built his first website for their company. The website was such a success that Greg founded NetSource Technologies to continue serving businesses and their marketing needs. His company grew to also include NetSource Media and RVUSA, serving outdoor and recreational vehicle dealers across the country. He was a beloved boss who cared immensely about his work and provided employment opportunities in the Ocala area for nearly 30 years.

Greg was a man of faith and a devoted husband and father. In his younger years, he served as a youth leader at Calvary Orlando. In Ocala, he was a respected mentor and pillar of the church community. He taught Sunday school, worked in the kids ministry, served on his church board and helped lead Promise Keepers, a local men’s Bible study.

If you knew Greg, you knew nothing made him prouder than his family. When his kids got involved in activities, he found every opportunity to be involved as well. He coached Chase’s baseball teams and coached all 3 kids in Junior Bible Quiz, an Academic Team-style competition that involved memorizing scripture. If he wasn’t actively participating, he was talking about his kids’ activities, and then careers, every chance he had.

The only thing Greg loved almost as much as his family, faith and work were his cars. His passion began with his first (and favorite) car, a 1981 Camaro. He has owned and restored dozens of cars since, from Corvettes to Land Cruisers, and one of his most cherished projects, “The Ginny,” a ’66 Chevy pickup named after his beloved wife. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing his dream of building a shop to work on his cars and owning a Camaro from every generation. A dedicated NASCAR enthusiast, Greg was a season ticket holder at Daytona International Speedway and attended 54 consecutive Daytona 500s, a tradition he cherished and shared with many.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Everett Wray Petry and his mom, Betty Carol Dent Petry. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Denton Petry, and his three children, Tori (Evan) Fredericksen of Boulder, Colorado; Savannah (Jean) Rodriguez of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Chase (Lindsey) Petry of Brooklyn, New York, as well as his grandchild, Reya Maria Rodriguez; his brother, Randy (Alicia) Petry of Jackson, Georgia; his uncles, Ron Petry of Altamonte Springs, Florida, and J.E. (Anna Lou) Petry of Hurricane, West Virginia; his aunt, Shelby Washko of Hinckley, Ohio; and his nephews and cousins.
