Mrs. Danelia Sandino Romig passed away on July 22, 2024. Born in San Francisco, California, she was a daughter of the late, Cayetano Sardino and Pauline Cuaresma.  She was a devout member of Catholic Church and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone.

Danelia was born and raised in San Francisco. She attended St. Paul's Catholic School throughout High School and then went on to attend U.C. Berkeley where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Litertature degree. This inspired her passion to become a teacher, which she truly loved. From there she moved to Vienna, Austria, got married and moved to the Monterey Peninsula to raise her family. She traveled to many places in the world and eventually moved back to the Peninsula where she spent the rest of her life. She enjoyed a life well lived; full of traveling, swimming, teaching, and everything spiritual.

She was involved in many groups and clubs supporting people; a lifelong member of Catholic Daughters of America, she was a faithful parishioner at St. Angela's Church and St. Jude's Parish. It was there where she strongly advocated for Spanish Masses in which she was successful. Her passion for Christ and devotion of her life to Him provided many opportunities to help others. Even those who did not know Danelia personally. She touched everyone she came in contact with and was loved by them all.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Romig, her son John Romig, and her sister Mary Nolte, along with countless beloved friends and family.

She will be sorely missed.

Mission Mortuary - Seaside

Centrally located on the Monterey Peninsula, Mission Mortuary has been the premier funeral home choice for Monterey and the entire peninsula for decades. Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946, first on Munras Avenue in Monterey and to our current location on Camino El Estero, walking distance to the Pacific Ocean and area cemeteries, in 1952. Despite our long history, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our families. Our facility includes spaces both large and small. Whether a handful of friends and family or a large crowd, we can accommodate all. As a reflection of our commitment to our diverse region, we offer multicultural funerals....
