In Loving Memory
Edith Kumm “Edie,” 91, of Wright passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Open Arms Assisted Living in Duluth. Edie was born on February 28, 1933 in Wright to Joseph and Agnes Kirzy. She married Glenn Jesse Kumm on January 12, 1952, making their home in Wright where they started their own dairy farm, logged the land and began their family. She retired after 30 years of working at Diamond Match.
Edie enjoyed socializing, playing cards, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and golfing. Edie and Glenn were snowbirds to south Texas. Her adventurous spirit had her out often, enjoying country and polka music, Jams, and dancing, all of which made her eyes light up. Spending time with family showering them with unconditional love brought her joy. She was a member of the Senior Center in Wright. Edie volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary, the Clothing Depot in Cromwell and was a founding member of the Wrong Days in Wright, the annual town celebration. She attended Wright/Cromwell Evangelical Free Church and Grace Church in Cloquet.
The family would like to thank the staff at Open Arms Assisted Living for their wonderful care given to Edie during her time there.
Edie was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Kumm; parents, Joseph and Agnes Kirzy, son, Larry Kumm; brother, Ray Kirzy; and step-grandson, Ryan Plante.
