Lela Faye (Heckman) Tuominen
Age 89, passed away on September 19, 2024 at Brooke Manor where she resided for the last 5 years. She was born in Runeberg Township, MN on July 15, 1935 to Nels and Aina Heckman.
Lela graduated from Denfeld High School in 1953 and was united in marriage with Eugene Tuominen on June 29, 1957.
Lela was an excellent bowler and avid fan of the MN Vikings and MN Twins. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved attending their events. Lela and Gene spent winters in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Eugene and son, Dale.
She is survived by her daughters, Patti (Brian) McIntosh, Nancy Tuominen, Cindy (Eric) Brademan; sons, Dan Tuominen, David Tuominen; daughters-in-law, Paula Tuominen and Ginny Tuominen; grandchildren, Kristin, Kacey, Tyler, Tara (Zack), Ashley (Brandon), Trey (Harper), Dain (Krista), Jace, Elias and Kai; great-grandchildren, BrookeLynn, Danny, Charlotte, Anastacia, Jaden and many nieces, nephews, friends and In-Laws, Kathy and Dennis Juusola, Michael and Cindy Tuominen.
A Special Thank You to Brooke Manor for their compassionate care. Also a thank you to St. Croix Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 27th at 11:00AM at Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet with a visitation at 10:00AM and reception to follow. Private Burial at Cedar Valley Cemetery.
