Edgar Padilla, 84, of Davenport, FL passed away on September 27, 2024 at AdventHealth Celebration Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1939 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico to Monserrate Padilla and Justina Zapata. Edgar moved to Florida in 2007 from Queens, NY, where he worked as a welder for over 30 years until retiring. He was of the Catholic faith.

A lover of the outdoors, Edgar enjoyed spending his days fishing and tending to his garden, especially nurturing mango trees and other fruits. He was an excellent cook, particularly skilled at preparing “lechón,” and could often be found enjoying oldies from the 50s and 60s. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. Known for his outgoing and funny personality, Edgar was also generous and deeply loving.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Patria, Cruz, Ruben, Luis A., Carmen L., Gladys, and Amilcar Padilla Zapata. Edgar leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter, Belinda Padilla of Davenport, FL; sons, Gilbert Padilla of Long Island, NY and Pete Padilla of Queens, NY; siblings, Sara, Josefa, Nelly, and Eddie Padilla Zapata; grandchildren, Solangel Troncoso and Gilbert Padilla Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 3:00 pm with Chaplain Daisy Santiago officiating, followed by visitation at 4:00 pm, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL.
